Tired of outdated birth classes that don’t reflect your values or your reality?
The Evidence Based Birth® Childbirth Class is designed for families who want more than just generic information. We focus on proven comfort techniques, what the research actually says (not just hospital policy), and how to confidently advocate for the birth experience you deserve, even in a system that doesn’t always center you.
This class meets you where you are, with the flexibility of learning from home and the personal support of a knowledgeable instructor who’s walked the walk. You’ll leave empowered, informed, and ready—not just to give birth, but to own your experience from beginning to end.

This curriculum is designed with your lifestyle in mind, offering the luxury of flexibility without compromising depth. You can choose between a hybrid format, which includes at least one in-person class, or a fully virtual experience that brings everything to you wherever you are. Using a flipped classroom model, you’ll watch engaging, evidence-based teaching videos on your own time before we meet for our live weekly sessions. This approach allows us to use our time together to dive deeper, clarify questions, and apply what you’ve learned in a way that’s meaningful to your unique journey. We offer only an accelerated track, which is perfect for keeping up with how quickly pregnancy moves, making sure you’re fully prepared, supported, and confident before your due date arrives.

I can't wait to meet you & your support team!
you could... but is the information reliable and well-organized for your understanding? I doubt it. the benefit of the Evidence Based Birth® Childbirth Class is that all of the best, evidence-based information has been curated and we get you and your partner engaged in the learning process.
what actually happens in most hospitals is still about 15 to 20 years behind the research, and there is a lot of pressure to conform to traditions that might not be in your best interests. we will teach you and your support how to be your own advocate—a skill you can for the rest of your life!
there are a lot of poor-quality classes out there that have given childbirth education a bad reputation. the founder of Evidence Based Birth®, Rebecca Dekker, PhD, RN, APRN, knows how to teach adults effectively. this class is motivating and SO much fun to participate in. you will learn more than you could ever imagine!
our students are most excited to learn about the entire toolkit of comfort measures for labor. we cover pain management techniques like massage, water immersion, upright birthing positions, acupressure, music therapy, and deep breathing, just to name a few. so when labor starts, you and your partner will be ready.
